dress = skirt

Long skirts were never my thing. Its due to the fact that I'm petite and they make me look even shorter. I do own a couple of maxi dresses but even during the summer I barely use them. But browsing blogs make me contradict myself in so many ways and eventually I'm driven to oblige this little voice in my head telling me to try things out. So last Sunday, I gave up and tried my hands on styling myself with a long skirt.

Technically, this isn't even a skirt. I was gunna challenge myself  last week supposedly by wearing dresses for 7 consecutive days. However on the first day, I already gave up seeing that the weather really isn't just good enough for dresses. I know I've been complaining about the weather in every of my blog posts so please bear with me. Promise, this would be the last time that I do. Anyhow, I had already prepared the dress the night before. It's a tube dress I got from my mom's boutique. I'm not sure if its me and my oddly shaped  shank, but I thought it was a little odd on the length. So I threw on a thin shirt underneath and pulled the dress down.

Also, I'm starting to learn the essence of belts. I used to be non-belt person. But now that I'm gaining extra pounds (boooh...), I can see how important they can be in styling. You can default a simple outfit with a belt and you can be pretty much done, simple style. Now I can make use of those rotting belts in my closet.

On another note, I've got tons to do as I've mentioned in my previous post. As usual, when it comes to school work, I procrastinate a lot! And they're not even difficult tasks. I really should focus. I can't help it. Blog browsing and blogging is just really freakishly addicting. Am I wrong? Tell me I am and that I'm just obsessed, haha.

  1. Love the looks and the skirt looks great on you!

    I am extremely short so some long skirts - I wear them as a tube dress with a belt around the waist (to add some shape)

    And good luck with finishing your school assignments!

  4. I like how you pulled this outfit together. I'm petite as well, but i love maxi skirts and dresses, so you cant ever go wrong with wearing 5.5 inch heels!

    Great Post :)
