I've been hanging out at SOHO in City of Dreams quite often these past weeks. There's something about its cozy ambiance and urban-style space that I find so refreshing compared to the typical lounges and dining outlets one can find in Macau where, as far as atmosphere and food & drinks variety are concerned, are just about the same as any other. Here they've got live entertainment on promo-nights and weekends (Penguin's band plays on Wednesdays and Saturdays) and multiple culinary options from their partner restaurants. I'm a sucker for places where live performers and food intermix which is probably why I keep coming back.
This particular night, my friends and I went to experience SOHO Friday, one of the said promotional nights which ultimately translates to free-flow of wines and beers from 7PM - 9PM, and the After-Nine buy 1 get 1 drinks promo at selected restaurants. So basically the plan was to drink all we can. But I didn't expect that we were in for a treat with what they prepared for us for dinner - green salad and beef carpaccio from Shelter, quesadilla from El Pinball, roasted goose from Chan Kee, and the oh-so-yummy fried chicken from Hongjade Korean Restaurant. On top that, they provided a really attentive service. The manager on duty was always checking in on us, making sure our dishes were served as expected, explained what they were, and overall just attended to our every need. I have to give it to Shelter, it was such a wonderful experience.
If you're around Macau and looking for a cool chill-out place which can be so rare, I recommend you pop by SOHO to check it out. Best time for ladies on Wednesdays - dinner and free-flow of drinks before hitting the clubs for the ultimate Ladies' Night; and gents on Saturdays for free-flow of beers from 7PM-9PM.
