70's It Girl

One off the things I like about denim is that they're so easy to deconstruct and make something unwearable to wearable. Most of the time all you need is a pair of scissors, occasionally some safety pins, your basic sewing skills, and some accessories to make something old good as new. Case in point, this denim skirt. Well, it's not entirely old because I'd just purchased it a few months ago, but it was certainly unwearable. My eagerness to own an updated version of the 70's A-line denim skirt has got me buying one 2 sizes up. Silly, right? Of course I should have known I won't be able to wear it as is the second I got home.

After a few desperate attempts I knew I needed to do something about it. So I trimmed off the hem as it was too long, took to an old that I haven't worn in a really long time to cinch the waist, and voila, finally able to wear it.

Here channelling the cool yet feminine vibes of the 70's fashion girls. You know you'll always find me lingering around the borderline between cool and something.

P.S. Here's another take on denim deconstruction
