European Summer Dreamin'

I've always wondered what it's like to do summer in Southern Europe; soaking up the sun on the French Riviera; prancing around the white alleys of Santorini; sunset watching on the coast of Amalfi. Someday I know I'm going to tick these off my bucket list but for now, I'll continue dreaming in an outfit that I would most definitely be wearing when I get there.

Don't be fooled by the beautiful blue skies that are making these photos as divine as I would imagine Santorini's would be, nor by the pretty Portuguese houses behind me. I am in fact back in dear old Macau, impractically dreaming about my next trip with Penguin. A backlog of photos from our great European adventure last year made me suddenly yearn for another long haul vacation; a sudden feeling of wanderlust consuming me. This time though, we'd rather not freeze our asses off, thinking more of summer vibes. Where to next? Who knows what we come up with.

I know I've mentioned countless times that I'm not a summer person but I can't help but be mesmerized by how beautiful a place can be once the sun is above it with the skies all blue and the clouds looking more like fluffy stuffed animals or edible floss. Even this dull place somewhat start to look magical in this setting.

We've been having this sort of perfect weather for almost a week now, ever since I came back from Manila, and even though it's way too hot to wear anything but paper-thin if not barely there pieces, I can't complain. Macau being a little pretty these days keep my spirits up.

On another note, how did you celebrate Father's Day with your old man?
A typical Sunday went for us, except that at times like these - Mother's day, Children's day, what-ever family occasion day - my parents almost always expect me to treat the whole family at a nice restaurant. That has been the case since I started working full time, and voila, seems that it's about to become a family tradition. Anyway, no big deal because I love seeing them happy, and if you know my family, food is one of the things that truly make them happy.

So we went for a nice Thai lunch post mass, then in the afternoon, went to see Now You See ME 2,which is, by the way, filmed in Macau. My dad is a big movie geek so simple things such as having all of us watch a movie with him in the cinemas already makes his day. That was followed by a simple dinner, some window-shopping, before calling it a day.

  5. Wow, never would have guessed that you were back home, this looks like somewhere in Europe. Absolutely pictures as well, I love how the camera was set to make the blue skies pop. I love the trousers and how it simply pairs with the top, it makes a great casual look. And your Father's Day celebration sounds fun, if I were your sister, I'd definitely support making such outings a tradition. I'm looking forward to your next travel adventure as I live through your pictures.
