90s Rap Star | Cheap Monday

Channeling 90s iconic TLC members in this outfit featuring Cheap Monday. I just love how the 90s style was revived and becoming more prominent in street fashion scene. I grew up in the 90s and it's possibly my favourite fashion era so you can expect that, while my style is ever changing, I'll always have a soft spot for 90s-inspired pieces or looks.

The kind people over at PopKorn PR sent over a couple of Cheap Monday pieces from the brand's Pre-S/S17 collection and I had fun styling them because they were trendy but in a subtle way, and I also liked that they're very wearable. I have another set of photos for the other piece which is a dress in the same material and with the same details but in this post, let's talk about this wide-leg trousers.

This is my favourite from the pieces by far because this piece is something I can wear on a regular basis and nearly anywhere, be it work or for just casually strolling around the city. I know I'm a little lucky that I get to wear casual clothing to work but even if I couldn't, this pair would make the cut because they're not entirely joggers considering the material. I can dress them up with a nice blouse and heels and I'm all set to attend my meetings for the day.

A little bit about the collection, basically it's all about trying out to being somebody else, someone rich or fancy or pretty much whoever you want to be in the best way possible, hence the pieces from the collection features prints cut in half, garments morphing into other garments to illustrate transformation.

In my case, obviously I imaged myself as a 90s rapper and transformed myself into that. Haha. Did I pull it off? You decide.

I'll be posting another set of photos featuring a dress from the same collection so stay tuned! You'd have seen that look on instagram if you follow my account @misscarlaviolet. But if not, you can guess who or what did I transform into.

Cheers,
Carla
