Not So Roman Holiday

Checking in from the beautiful Budva, Montenegro where I currently am working on an event. But let me take you to a few days back when we were in Rome for a short layover on the way here; our little whirlwind of a getaway.

I can't say Rome is one of my favourite places in Europe but it definitely felt good to be back. The city is just as pretty as it was specially the old parts, and I really like its uniformed orange and yellow buildings. This time around I think I really fell in love with its architecture as we got to walk along the narrow streets surrounding the Piazza di Spagna which Penguin and I didn't get to do previously so I didn't really notice how beautiful the old buildings were. Chezka and I took as much photos as we could making the most out of our 36 hours layover.

We stayed at the city center just right next to Roma Termini, thankfully making it convenient for us to get a transportation to the touristy places if not walk to them. As soon as we arrived and got ourselves settled into our hotel, we made our way to the Coliseum on foot in only around 15 minutes. But due to the limited time we had, the extreme heat of Italian summer, and the vast amount of tourists lining up to enter the great amphitheater, we decided to skip that part. Well, having been there before I didn't really mind but I still felt a little sad since we were already there.

After the Coliseum, we had some gelato before making our way to the shopping street Via dei Condotti. I kinda went all out shopping this time around because I didn't get to do that the last time I was here plus I had friends who asked to buy stuff for them so shopping was mandatory. Of course I had fun in the process too, pretending to be a rich person while at it haha.

For the rest of the day we just wandered around, snapping about every corner. These are the best I have so far and a few more to share with you guys in upcoming posts. But for now I leave you with this as I gotta get back to work.

Talk to you guys again soon and don't forget to follow my adventures on Instagram @misscarlaviolet
