Lunch at Caffe B Macau | First Time Review

Now that I have more free time on hand, I've been making it a point to try new things and one of them is sampling dishes or restaurants that I've never gone to before. Recently, I was introduced to Caffe B, an Italian Restaurant in Nam Van area and I can pretty much say it was a good dining experience overall.

I usually think of Italian restaurants as fine-dining only because most of the ones that we do have here in Macau are located within hotel properties. I was quite surprised that Caffe's atmosphere is pretty chill while maintaining the kind of service that you would expect from a fine-dining restaurant; staff were attentive and courteous.

A couple of days ago, I sat with a few local KOLs for lunch to taste what the restaurant has to offer. For starters, we had bruschetta, Caprese Salad, Grilled Vegetables, and Chicken Salad. For the most part, I think everything was well cooked and tasted great. But we didn't choose the items on the menu and I just thought that there were too much salad for one course. Not that I'm complaining because I loved both the Caprese and Chicken Salad.

Moving to the first course, we had 2 kinds of Spaghetti - bolognaise and seafood. I preferred the latter only because there were clams but both dishes were scrumptious. The portions are quite big so I think the dishes are better shared. We were a group of five sharing 2 plates of each dish and there was plenty for everybody.

The second course was, of course, Pizza, because lunch at an Italian restaurant would not be complete without pizza, right? (At least not for me). And I love myself a traditional Italian pizza because the ingredients are fresh and authentic.

Finally, for dessert, we had a very traditional tiramisu. One thing I have to say though, is that I didn't find the tiramisu mouthwatering. I don't know if it's just because of the way it's made. As I was told, this particular kind of tiramisu is made in a big batch. That must have been why I think the texture is a big soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for too long. But otherwise, it still tasted good.

The serving time took a little longer than I hoped for so that our lunch lasted from 2 and half hours to 3 hours. But overall, I think Caffe B is a great place to chill out, savour authentic Italian cuisine, while enjoying the beautiful view that is Lake Nam Van and Macau Tower.
