The mad man's shirt
Photos by Pierre Elma
I'd been wanting this shirt dress ever since I saw it at the preview of H&M's studio collection in Hong Kong some few weeks ago. I think it's the perfect piece to describe contemporary yet wearable at the same time; the mad man's shirt as I call it. Reminds me so much of the white coats mad scientists in movies usually wear, with the high collar, long length, sleeves in all, but in a really cool way. So I'm more than a little thrilled that H&M sent this over for me to style.
Honestly though, I didn't think it needed much styling as the slit did it all. I just wanted to keep it simple so I decided to pair it with basic denim shorts and black boots. Then to emphasize my vision of a mad man, I finished off the look with these rad Shanghai Tang sunglasses. Et voila!
This was what I wore to brunch with Penguin on, believe it or not, a very rainy Saturday morning. Prior to taking these photos all my hopes of getting a few good shots of this outfit were crushed as we were caught off-guard by the sudden rainfall. But trust Penguin to capture how exactly how I imagined myself in this shirt-dress. Him and his 5D. Pur-fect.
P.S. The H&M Studio Collection including this shirt-dress will be available in select stores (The Venetian store in Macau) on September 10. Go check it!
