Pretty Things and Rue Madame

I’m a sucker for bizarre but pretty things and I've seen pompoms on clothes like tops and shorts. While I don't fancy them on clothes, have you ever seen them on sandals? Way better! I've never been so excited about sandals and I fell in love with these! Definitely adding a mental note to include these in my Coachella outfit planning when and if ever I go (yup, still #NoChella for me).

These handmade beauties are made by European designer Elina Linardaki and can be found at the chic Parisian boutique Rue MadameEach sandal is carefully handcrafted and each has unique embroidery, but my favorite has to be the ultra colourful Penny la lace up embellished sandals. It’s on my must haves for this summer and I can already picture me strolling the streets in them with a cute little gypsy white dress, and a tanned satchel bag with a casual floppy hat. Dressing them is easy as they’re so loud already you just need to keep your outfit simple and neutral. (TIP: You can add pops of colour to your accessories or make up by matching back to the colours in the sandals.

Elina Linardaki Made by Hand, is a company of handmade leather shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories founded in 2006 by designer Elina Linardaki, based and handcrafted in Athens, Greece. They also offer personalized handmade to order products in a large variety of colors in real leather and they also design shoe collections twice a year in a limited edition that are made to order.

I love how they offer modern shoes and accessories, keeping the prices affordable using the finest leather. These sandals are made for summer and perfect for festivals and day time exploring around.

Rue Madame is becoming one of my favorite boutiques as it’s very much what one would find in Europe. They have stores in Singapore and of course, closer to home, Hong Kong! You can expect lots of labels from Paris, Europe and US and they've recently just launched their online store!

A trend this summer that I will be certainly experimenting with will be the off shoulder look. There’s something about showing off your collarbones and shoulders that gives off an elegant factor. So girly and flirty and looks super chic with a nice pair of well fitted light-washed jeans. I love the versatility of off shoulders as you can take it from day to night easily. Make heads turn either way, dress down with some casual shorts and sneakers for the day, and then dress it up with a cute mini skirt, glitzy accessories, your best pair of heels and you are good to go on a night out!

Rue Madame has a seasonal trend section on their website with the hottest trends right now, giving you lots of outfit ideas and definitely makes shopping a lot easier! I think I’d have to get the off shoulder embroidered white dress by Valerie Khalfon to match my Elina sandals, they would be the perfect match  and these are definitely going on my wish list!

  1. They look super cute and unique! I agree they would look awesome at festivals, but I would fear someone stepping on my toes in the madness, so I would better wear them at the seaside.
