Daytime Goth | Minami Aoyama
Nope, not in L.A. as much as I hope it is. These were taken in Tokyo's version of what I imagine Beverly Hills in Cali would be , and that is Minami Aoyama. I'm in love with this place. At first glance you would think it's a rather quiet residential neighborhood but in fact, it's one of the more refined, more haute couture, more hip and upmarket youth-oriented shopping areas in Tokyo.
Penguin and I went for a stroll in the area on the hunt for the Bapexclusive store, and my word, this place has some of the most aesthetically pleasing stores I've seen; low-rise buildings solely occupied by brands with floor to ceiling glass walls from ground to the top floor; some with resort themed facades equipped with lounge chairs, plants, and beach umbrellas; others looking rather more of an art gallery than an actual boutique selling products. I was in so much awe.
I took to black basics with just a pop of print in this skirt for the day's 'fit. To add that bad girl edge, I accessorized with a thick choker, round sunnies, and Viva Glam lipstick by Mac. But truth be told, I wouldn't have donned the lipstick if I didn't manage to acquire a cold sore on both my upper and lower lips. The lipstick was really to camouflage the dark wounds. They're barely visible in the photos but wait 'til you see my travel videos. Tsk tsk.
