Yet again, we are experiencing warmer days in the middle of winter in dear old Macau. I'm undecided as to whether I like it not but in any case, as long as the sun is out and the skies are blue, I'll take that.
This particular day is what I'd call rare and I took the opportunity to wear a bit of layers by way of a jumpsuit and a long coat. Behold the return of this all-time favourite camel coat that's made constant reappearance in this blog over the past few years. If there's one thing I learned in the long run, the hard way, is that it's always best to invest in the perfect basic that never goes out of style. Case in point. Mind you I didn't even pay that much for this coat considering how much I've worn them already. You might be surprised that I got this from Forever 21's premium line only HKD 600 no less. At the time, I considered it a splurge given that I don't spend over HKD 500 on a piece of clothing (save for a few exceptions that I later regretted. Hello, Anti Social Social Club). But now I consider it a bargain.
Speaking of bargain - I found this overalls hanging on the sales rack of Monki and I couldn't be any happier having done so because I've been looking for the ultimate piece in the right cut and fits well but found it rather difficult and was already considering paying a ridiculous amount for authentic vintage or the new retro collection by Tommy Hilfiger. Sometimes being a sale junkie pays off you know, you just stumble upon a piece of jem and you feel so triumphant. Only paid HKD 100 - what price can beat that?
I'm so into dad shoes ever since I got this pair of Filas from Korea and seeing that they give that retro vibe to any of the outfits I wear them with, I've been eyeing a few other pairs to acquire. Of course if I had all the resources in the world, I'd love to get my hands on a pair of Balenciaga Triple S trainers, or the vintage Chanels, or Raf Simmons, but I think the more feasible alternative would be from Sketchers. What are your thoughts? Are you into the dad shoes trend? Leave me some notes below, let's talk about sneaker trends.
On a more personal note, today I start my 10 day countdown to last day of work. Yas, yas, yas. It's a little exciting but nerve-racking at the same time. But I think that's a good thing. Nerves is good. Crazy to think that I'm beginning the year by being unemployed but you know what, it feels liberating. I think I've mentioned that already before. Anyways, countdown with me? 9 days to go, woohoo!
