Corduroy Co-ords featuring Dr. Denim Jeans

I feel like the stars are in my favour this weekend you guys, I'm just full of positive energy!

Woke up Friday morning to yet another feature on Hypebae's Instagram, wearing this outfit no less, and the amount of support and love messages I've been receiving from those who saw the feature was overwhelming. It made me smile realising that beneath the shallow surface of what Instagram has become, there still are people who genuinely support others not because they were forced to nor they expected something in return.

The other weekend, I took a break from Instagram and was contemplating on what to actually do with my account because it seems to have become something of an obligation to me rather than something I love doing. And I think it goes for everyone who's forgotten the true essence of Instagram - it's not about the numbers nor the fame, but really, it's about sharing what you love  doing be it photography, styling, or food, in a user-friendly, hassle-free, "instant" way. That's why it's called Instagram, duh. But everyone's forgotten about that specially since the "algorithm" issue. Yesterday's feature reminded me of the good old times and why I am on Instagram. It reminded me that I am there because I want to be in a community with people who share the same passion and interests. And for that same reason I will continue to be.

But let's not get too dramatic and return to the topic at hand - this outfit. You've probably seen these pieces already which I styled in my Dr. Denim Lookbook vide0 (if you haven't watched it yet, I'd really appreciate it if you did? Thank you). I don't usually prefer to style two new things at the same time in one outfit but for these two corduroy pieces, I couldn't resist. They're both perfect on they're own so combined, it's a given they would be bomb.com.

I wore this to dinner with Penguin's relatives but of course before that, we took some time to catch the golden hour down my building to take these amazing photos. In Macau, it's really hard to catch the perfect sunset light so consider yourself lucky when you catch it. I have a ton of images from this set, a result of experimenting with various lenses but most of them are in Penguin's memory card so I guess we'll have to wait for his Instagram posts to see them (if he will). But actually, I'm also happy with what I have so here we are.

Today, I went to Hong Kong to catch up with some old fashion friends and it felt great to chat with them, look back at the times we would run around Hong Kong during fashion week in our stupidly high heels and overly done outfits. But I also felt sad knowing that most of them already left the fashion industry and now live different lives. That's how it is in this part of the world, I guess. Fashion enthusiasts don't get a lot of support from the local communities so no one ever grows. It's a sad reality. But don't fret, I'm not giving up this platform, serious business or not. As with Instagram, it's not really about getting famous or becoming big but simply sharing what you love doing. I've loved styling and making clothes for myself since I was a kid, and I've always been on the creative side of things so this is me simply sharing with the world what I love doing.

On this note, I'll leave you guys with some soup of the day: Don't stop doing what you love just because it doesn't pay and you're not getting anything out of it. Remember that you are doing it for yourself and not for anyone else.

Have a great rest of the weekend, ya'll! Much love!
