Jeju
Jeju feels strikingly familiar to me, having visited several times for work. Yet, it also remains a place of mystery, as I’ve never had the chance to explore its natural beauty. Perhaps on my next visit—if there is one—I will finally get to experience Jeju’s stunning nature attractions.
2025
This trip was a bittersweet experience, marking both my first work trip and my final event as Group Director of Events and VIP for Triton before my resignation. I cherished every moment, uncertain of when I might return to this beautiful island. It’s ironic that just as I grew familiar with the wonderful people at Jeju Shinhwa World—my home whenever I’m on the island—I now have to say goodbye. Yet, as I told everyone, this isn’t goodbye; it’s simply a “see you later.”
2024
My first work trip for a full event in 2024 was to Jeju, a destination I both welcome and that warmly welcomes us in return. There’s something about this place—perhaps it’s the Asian in me (and in us as a brand), combined with the renowned Asian hospitality—that makes us all feel at home, even though we're here for work. It’s a different experience compared to hosting events in Europe. This time, I didn’t take many photos, so here are the few snapshots I captured on the days I remembered to pick up my camera.
2023
Years later, I’ve returned to Jeju after a global pandemic and several intense years climbing the career ladder. In many ways, I’m a completely different person professionally than I was the last time I visited, and even more so than the very first time I came to Jeju for work. Now, I have greater control over my work and enjoy the privilege of experiencing elevated services simply for doing what I do. This is something I genuinely appreciate and feel fortunate for in my career.
During this trip, I stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Marriott Jeju Shinhwa World, indulged in exquisite meals, and shopped extensively between work meetings and site visits. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe this is my reality. There’s so much to be grateful for. What a remarkable way to close out 2023.
2016-2019
Jeju Shinhwa World
Really just wanted to post these images that I took from my last Jeju visit, which was two months ago (can't believe this post has been sitting among the drafts for that long). It was much colder back then and I loved it. I was hoping it would be similar this time around but meh. I really missed winter this year.
Jeju Foodie
If you follow my insta-stories, you'd think all I ever did in Jeju was eat. Well, that's about right. Jeju has plenty of dining options from cute cafes to specialty restaurants to dessert bars. I like to think we were able to try them all but unfortunately, there's too much options and too little time.
Urban Island
Checking in from the beautiful island of Jeju, South Korea! I'm back here again for work, but this time a little more optimistic in getting to see more of the island itself than the city that we're usually staying at.
Jeju Blues
Finally, I am able to check in. Hello, beautiful people. I hope you still remember me. This is by far the longest that I haven't posted ever since I started blogging regularly and I have no excuses. Honestly, it's just been a whirlwind of a month; back to back events after events, projects, trips; work has pretty much consumed my whole being that I had was enough time to sleep and recover some energy, only to wake up the next day and continue with where I left off at work. But that's quite over... for now.
Work + Play | Jeju
Hey ya'll! I'm finally back home after two weeks of being away for work. But I'm not breathing just yet; I still have two events upcoming this week that I need to prepare for so this is just me checking in to let you know that well, I'm still alive despite my crazy working schedule.
