During our visit to the South of France to see my friend, we had a spontaneous and somewhat sporadic idea to go see a football match. After all, being in Europe, attending a live football game seemed like an essential part of the overall experience. That fleeting moment of inspiration led us to Lyon, where we found the earliest available football match happening nearby. The game was between Lyonnaise and Toulouse at the historic Stade de Gerland. This match was especially monumental because it was the very last one played at that stadium before the Lyonnaise team moved to their brand-new home, Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
