Bohemian Summer with H&M
Photos by Pierre Elma
With the summer heat in full effect, I can only think of cladding myself with classic and effortless summer staples that are easy-breezy enough to prance around in under the scorching sun. Billowy tops, loose-fitting dresses, ideally anything festival-appropriate that can be downplayed for a minimal effect. H&M has me by the throat at that, leaving me breathless with their latest collection inspired by modern bohemia and monochrome dressing. The moment I set foot at their showroom in Hong Kong last month, I've had my eyes on some of their understated, often off-white numbers, and muted prints embedded into rompers and skirts, that I can't wait to get my hands on when the new flagship store opens at the Venetian.
But while I wait, they sent over several pieces from my picks to style. This off-white dungaree dress worn over a dainty lace top, a loose fringed tunic that's very much in with the 70s trend, a classic white shirt with a front-knot spin that is my favourite by far, and this subdued kaleidoscope printed midi skirt that's very much suitable for those summer garden parties. I wore them with other H&M pieces from my closet for full dedication to the brand.
Obviously, I'm a huge fan, which is why I'm stoked that the first ever H&M flagship store in Macau is opening on the 13th of June. It's exciting enough that we will finally have an H&M store here, but I can't be even more thrilled knowing that one of H&M's style icons and endorses, David Beckham will be there at the opening. Oh, the thrill, this can't be missed and I hope I get to see him too!
Now this is the part where I invite you! If you're in Macau and free on that day, join me and other fashion bloggers as we report live on the day, run around the store, and shop shop shop!
H&M is hosting a game for all you lambs, where you can win a one-night stay at the Venetian Macau, an H&M gift card worth MOP500, and most importantly, a meet-and-greet session with the soccer maven himself!
Visit www.hmloves.macau.com to play the game. See you at the opening!
