SHOWCASE presented by Popkorn | Cheap Monday, 5Preview, and More!

I was recently invited to the multi-brand showcase presented by Popkorn, where they showcased the latest collections from brands such as Cheap Monday, 5Preview, Neuw, and the likes, and thought I'd share a few event visuals with ya'll.

Honestly, I don't have that much photos from the event because Chezka and I were late. Coming from another press event, we got lost in Kowloon and couldn't find the correct MTR station to get onto the Island Line that will take us to Kennedy Town in Hong Kong Island. We arrived at the preview just 30 minutes before it was over. Fortunately there was still something left for us to see so here's the lot that I managed to snap in between chatting with sweet Michael from Popkorn, trying on some of the pieces from the collection, and getting ourselves illustrated by the talented @onionpeterman.

My favourite collection is a given, of course, by Cheap Monday; the denims, the little leather jacket, and surprisingly, the accessories. I love the badass-looking layered necklaces and the earphone/plug inspired earrings. I also tried on the little leather jacket as shown in my #mirrorselfie below - definitely made me feel like a sexy, badass female superhero. But comics aside, I do think this jacket is perfect for a night out in the city. Michael picked it out for me to try as I was looking for an outerwear that goes with the outfit that I was already wearing. Proven, he's got a good eye.

Another notable brand on display was 5Preview and their collection gives off a kind of French Riviera Spring/Summer vibe because of the prints and patterns - blue stripes that reminds you of yachts; florals and tropical printed billow dresses that screams vacation vibes; and stylish beach bags that easily fits a beachball and a giant sunhat. Most of the pieces are also boxy cut if not shapeless to they're definitely easy to wear, laid-back, and breezy.

But what really caught my attention were the sneakers they made in collaboration with Pony. They look so minimal but cool at the same and I think they're the kind of pair that would go with so many outfits.

After going through the whole studio, we still had a bit of time to join the screen-printing workshop that accompanied the illustration work of @onionpeterman. Basically, she does live illustration of you and when she's done, you're free do spice up your canvas using the stencils and paints that were there. I did mine a little messily at first but I got the hang of it and managed to take home a decent artwork (by decent I mean thankfully I didn't ruin the work of @onionpeterman) and it's now on display in my nightstand.

It's always fun attending media events and catching up with old and new friends so even if we were out of breathe, practically sweaty when we arrived, the effort paid off and I'm happy to see Michael even just for a few minutes. Thanks to the lovely people at Popkorn (a.k.a. Michael and Eva) for having me and hope to see you both again soon!
